Google to Become Founding Partner of the 2028 Olympics in Los Angeles
Google has signed an agreement with the organizing committee of the 2028 Los Angeles Olympic and Paralympic Games, Team USA, and media giant NBCUniversal, becoming a founding partner and the official cloud provider for the event.
As part of the collaboration, Google will integrate its leading technologies, such as the Gemini model, Google Cloud, and the updated search with AI Mode. These innovations are aimed at enhancing athlete preparation, managing big data, and improving viewer engagement with event broadcasts. Specifically, the Gemini technology will assist athletes in analyzing training data, while Google Cloud will process the organizational data for LA28 and viewership on NBC platforms. AI Mode in Google Search will allow viewers to interactively engage with information during NBCUniversal broadcasts.
It is worth noting that Los Angeles has previously hosted the Olympic Games in 1932 and 1984. This time, the organizers aim to conduct the event without constructing new permanent infrastructure, utilizing existing sports facilities.
| Innovation | Purpose |
|---|---|
| Gemini | Analysis of athlete training data |
| Google Cloud | Processing of sports and organizational data |
| AI Mode in Google Search | Interactivity during broadcasts |
