Apple will complete the development of a new version of Siri with a built-in AI chatbot by the end of 2026. The project, known as Campos, will be Apple’s first generative AI chatbot.
The new Siri assistant will be deeply integrated into iOS, iPadOS, and macOS operating systems. It will be able to engage in conversations with users, search for information online, create texts and images, as well as analyze files and process personal data. This chatbot will be available on all major Apple platforms and applications, including email, photos, music, and software development.
Apple is expected to present the Campos project at the Worldwide Developers Conference in June. The full release for end users is planned for September. By this date, Apple will provide an interim Siri update without chatbot features.
The foundation of the new assistant’s technology will be an AI model developed by the Google Gemini team. Currently, Apple pays Google about $1 billion annually for access to this technology. However, the company does not rule out the possibility of changing AI model providers in the future.
This development is a step towards expanding the capabilities of the Siri digital assistant, which could change user interaction with technology and enhance Apple’s competitiveness in the AI sector.
