Anthropic raised $65 billion, increasing its market value to $965 billion
American company Anthropic completed a Series H funding round, receiving $65 billion, which raised its market value to $965 billion.
The funding round was led by investment giants such as Capital Group, Coatue, D1 Capital Partners, GIC, ICONIQ, and XN, and also attracted leading venture funds. The total amount included $15 billion of previous commitments, including from Amazon Corporation. New strategic partners include Micron, Samsung, and SK hynix.
The funds raised will be used to meet the demand for AI technologies, scale computational power, and research in the field of their safety. The investment deal was approved on May 15, initially planned at $30 billion, but the amount was revised due to increased investor interest.
Chief Financial Officer Krishna Rao stated that Anthropic has increased computational capabilities through agreements with partners such as Amazon, Google, and SpaceX. This allowed for the integration of new solutions into products like Claude Code and Cowork.
Anthropic is a leading company in the field of artificial intelligence, founded by former OpenAI researchers in 2021. One of its main products is the chatbot Claude, available on Amazon Web Services, Google Cloud, and Microsoft Azure platforms.
