A new prisoner exchange took place: another 200 defenders returned to Ukraine.

Ukraine has returned 200 prisoners of war from Russia, including defenders from various regions of the country. President Volodymyr Zelensky announced the successful exchange and the return of the fighters home.

According to the Ukrainian leader, the released include servicemen from the Armed Forces of Ukraine, the State Special Transport Service, border guards, and national guardsmen. The exchange covered defenders from different parts of Ukraine, including Mariupol, Donetsk, Luhansk, Kharkiv, and Zaporizhzhia.

This exchange is part of ongoing efforts to return all Ukrainian citizens held captive in Russia. The process of exchanging prisoners of war takes place amid tensions and lengthy negotiations between Kyiv and Moscow regarding the conditions and number of released individuals.

The release of such groups of fighters has great symbolic significance, as the return of those who defended their country improves the morale of society and families waiting for their loved ones. Experts note that this exchange may contribute to further progress in negotiations between Ukraine and Russia.
