The Commissioner of the Verkhovna Rada for Human Rights, Dmytro Lubinets, condemned the killing of two Ukrainian soldiers in the Zaporizhzhia region, stating the systematic nature of Russian war crimes. He appealed to international organizations demanding immediate measures for response.
According to official information, Russian troops likely executed two captive Ukrainian soldiers near the village of Zatyshshia. Lubinets, confirming this information, emphasized that such actions are a gross violation of international humanitarian law and the Geneva Conventions. Commenting on the incident, Lubinets highlighted the systematic nature of violations by Russian occupiers.
The situation caused significant resonance online, where the informational-analytical project Deepstate also released a video confirming the commission of a war crime. According to the project’s data, less than 20 minutes after the incident, Ukrainian forces destroyed the enemy unit using an FPV drone.
With the aim of an adequate response to violations of military personnel’s rights, Lubinets sent official inquiries to the International Committee of the Red Cross and the UN, urging the international community to act promptly. He also called on Ukrainians to report similar cases to law enforcement agencies and the ombudsman’s hotline.
Despite the difficulties, the Ukrainian Armed Forces continue to control the situation in the region. It was recently announced the withdrawal of Ukrainian units from Novovasylivske, located on the southern front of the Zaporizhzhia region.
