National Anti-Corruption Bureau of Ukraine installed surveillance in the apartment of businessman Timur Mindich as part of the “Midas” operation, which sparked scandal over possible corruption schemes in the energy sector.
Semen Kryvonos, head of the National Anti-Corruption Bureau (NABU), confirmed in a video message published on the YouTube channel “Ukrainska Pravda” that law enforcement officers lawfully listened in on conversations in the premises where, according to preliminary data, one of the organizers of the group made key decisions. Investigator Ruslan Magamedrasulov actively participated in documenting the suspect.
The surveillance was established based on court decisions, Kryvonos noted. His agency believes that important agreements were made in this office with the participation of the person residing in the apartment at 9a Hrushevskoho Street. According to open sources, this may be Timur Mindich, who previously had business ties with President Volodymyr Zelensky.
Meanwhile, Ruslan Magamedrasulov and his father are currently under arrest. They are suspected of aiding the aggressor state as well as facilitating the illegal export of technical hemp. The investigation claims that Magamedrasulov acted as an intermediary between Russian buyers and his father, but the defense claims that the export was to Uzbekistan.
After receiving suspicions on July 21, the Verkhovna Rada passed a controversial law that temporarily complicated the independence of anti-corruption bodies. However, after mass protests and the reaction of European partners, their independence was restored. 15 prosecutors have been involved in the Magamedrasulov case, reported the Office of the Prosecutor General.
