Special Operations Forces struck oil depots and Russian fuel trains in Crimea

Special Operations Forces struck oil depots and logistics facilities in Crimea

Ukrainian Special Operations Forces carried out a drone attack on oil depots and logistics facilities in the temporarily occupied Crimea on the night of November 6, specifically near the village of Hvardiiske.

During the attack in the Hvardiiske area, the SOF destroyed a RVS-400 tank, which was filled at the time of the strike. Two trains with tank cars on the loading and unloading rack, filled with petroleum products, were also damaged. Additionally, in the same area, drones targeted several oil depots and fuel and lubricants warehouses in Simferopol and its surroundings, causing multiple fires.

It is worth noting that on November 5, the day before in temporarily occupied Donetsk, a base for storing components and launching “shahed” drones was attacked. Meanwhile, on the night of November 6, the Ukrainian Defense Forces also hit the Volgograd oil refinery in Russia, causing explosions and a fire at the facility. According to Reuters, this refinery processes about 15.7 million tons of petroleum products annually, constituting approximately 5.6% of the total Russian refining, and after the attack, it ceased its operations.

These attacks are part of a broader strategy by Ukraine to weaken logistics and energy infrastructures in the occupied territories. According to experts, such strikes significantly impact the supply and logistical capabilities of the occupying forces, which may further decrease their combat effectiveness.
