US President Donald Trump announced significant progress in attempts to end the war between Russia and Ukraine, although no results have been achieved yet. According to him, over the past eight months, his administration has assisted in ending eight conflicts.
During a dinner with Central Asian leaders, Trump mentioned that his administration managed to end conflicts in various regions, including the war between Azerbaijan and Armenia. There were also efforts to end armed confrontations between Cambodia and Thailand, Kosovo and Serbia, in the Democratic Republic of the Congo and Rwanda, India and Pakistan, Israel and Iran, Egypt and Ethiopia, Israel and Hamas. However, it should be noted that many of these conflicts were either not in an active phase, or only a ceasefire was achieved.
Previous statements by the US president indicate that resolving the war in Ukraine may take longer than expected. Earlier, he emphasized that he had telephone conversations with Russian President Vladimir Putin, for whom the issue of Ukraine is particularly important.
Analysts note that Trump’s statements may serve as part of a foreign policy strategy aimed at strengthening the US’s position in resolving global conflicts. However, the question remains as to how successful these efforts have been and whether they have led to sustainable peace in the conflict regions.
