The Cabinet of Ministers of Ukraine decided to change the approach to forming lists of critically important facilities for the winter and summer periods, with the aim of increasing the efficiency of electricity distribution. These changes, initiated by the Ministry of Energy, were announced by Minister Denys Shmyhal.
According to the Minister of Energy, the new approach will take into account the seasonal features of the energy system operation and the limit of electricity consumption. This method will allow for more efficient planning of the available electricity distribution, which in turn will increase its availability for residential consumers, ensure even distribution between regions, and enhance the stability of the unified energy system of Ukraine.
This decision will also allow for flexible accounting of seasonal electricity consumption features, promoting the stable operation of the energy system under changing climate conditions. In addition, this initiative aims to prevent irregular power outages that have recently been observed in some regions of Ukraine due to external attacks on energy infrastructure and abnormal weather conditions.
It should be noted that this Thursday, power outages were recorded in five regions of Ukraine caused by Russian attacks on civilian energy facilities and the heat, which led to emergency power outages in Lviv.
