The Research Institute “Orion” in Kyiv was sold for a record 381 million hryvnias. This became one of the largest sales made by the State Property Fund of Ukraine during the first half of this year.
The State Property Fund of Ukraine (SPFU) reported on successful activities in the first half of 2023. The total revenue to the state budget amounted to 3.4 billion hryvnias, of which 1.4 billion hryvnias came from dividends and a portion of net profit of state enterprises. During this period, 168 successful auctions related to the privatization of small privatization objects were completed, bringing in over 1 billion hryvnias.
The incredible success of the sale accompanied the sale of the Research Institute “Orion” in Kyiv, where bidding led to price increases of 896.85%, reaching a sum of 381 million hryvnias.
The privatization of sanctioned assets also generated an income of 70.45 million hryvnias, while the sale of sanctioned property brought in 7.38 million hryvnias. Income from the lease of state property amounted to 494.27 million hryvnias, with the total area being 9.13 million square meters.
Among the most profitable enterprises was “Centrenergo” with a profit of 524.9 million hryvnias in the first quarter of 2023, while “Kharkivenerhozbut” took second place with a profit of 410.6 million hryvnias.
SPFU is also involved in preparing for the sale of confiscated property, including the house of singer Taisia Povaliy along with the land plot underneath it. The Fund’s future plans include increasing revenues from privatization and leasing, which could significantly boost state budget revenues shortly.
