Military personnel who develop new technologies for the front will receive at least 25% of the funds from the transfer of inventions to serial production. This was announced by Defense Minister Mykhailo Fedorov after the government’s support of a resolution on paid licensing of defense developments.
This new mechanism is aimed at stimulating innovation in the field of defense technologies. It allows the state to transfer military developments to serial production on a paid basis. At least a quarter of the funds received from the sale of licenses will be paid directly to the military who are the authors of technological solutions. Other funds will be directed to the development of defense innovations, financing new technologies, and protecting intellectual property rights.
The new licensing procedure applies to technologies developed in the Defense Forces of Ukraine, which can be transferred to serial production for further use. In June, the Ministry of Defense of Ukraine launched the TrophyLab platform, allowing users to access research and analytics on modern Russian weapons based on captured equipment.
This step emphasizes the growing role of technology in modern warfare and may stimulate the active development of innovations among military specialists. According to experts, this will not only increase the effectiveness of defense forces but may also have an impact on economic growth through the commercialization of military developments.
