In recent years, artificial intelligence has been actively penetrating the IT sector, especially in software development and testing, leading to changes in the job market. While a significant number of companies in the US and the UK have expressed concerns about the implementation of AI, Ukrainian firms are already actively using the technology to optimize processes.
According to a survey by Gartner, 77% of engineering department heads in the US and the UK have faced difficulties with AI implementation. Another 71% of respondents indicated the expansion of workflows due to AI as a significant issue. In Ukraine, according to the Ministry of Digital Transformation, 93% of companies use AI for data analysis and forecasts, primarily in trade and finance sectors.
Analysts from Gartner predict that in 2025, the market for AI-based application development platforms will reach $5.2 billion. While the USA and the UK focus on integration, in Ukraine, AI has already become a part of the daily work of companies like SoftServe, EPAM Ukraine, and Genesis. They actively evolve the agent lifecycle development and integrate AI into internal operational processes. Popular tools include ChatGPT Enterprise, GitHub Copilot, Microsoft 365 Copilot, and others.
The use of AI also leads to transformation in the job market. While in western markets AI often means workforce reduction, as is happening at Amazon or Intel, in Ukraine the focus is on retraining existing employees. According to a study by Neoversity, 77% of companies in Ukraine are committed to retraining their staff for working with AI.
Moreover, Ukrainian IT companies are developing new positions, such as Intelligence Engineer or AI Native Engineers, to integrate AI capabilities into product development and process management. Companies already have established guidelines regarding the use of AI, focusing on human responsibility for final decision-making.
| Country | AI Implementation | Issues |
|---|---|---|
| USA | Integration in development | 77% find integration painful |
| UK | Process optimization | 71% experience difficulties in using AI |
| Ukraine | Use in analytics | 93% of companies have already implemented AI |
Despite concerns that AI could replace employees, Ukrainian companies use it to enhance productivity rather than to cut staff. This provides additional opportunities for growth in the job market, especially for young specialists and juniors with skills in working with AI.
