The defense technology company UForce has raised $50 million in investment, achieving unicorn status with a valuation of over $1 billion. The investment round was led by funds Shield Capital and Lakestar, with the participation of Ballistic Ventures.
UForce, founded by former Prime Minister of Ukraine Oleksiy Honcharuk, specializes in developing autonomous systems for air, sea, and land. The board of directors, which includes former UK Defense Secretary Ben Wallace, is working on solutions for allied countries’ armies. Oleg Rogynskyy, CEO of UForce, emphasizes that Ukrainian technologies emerged under combat pressure, making them unique.
One of the key developments is the MAGURA marine drones, which have been successfully used in the Black Sea to neutralize Russian ships. To expand production for Western armies, UForce is building factories in Europe. The new drones will be adapted to the conditions of the Atlantic and the Mediterranean, have a secured supply chain, and meet NATO standards.
Although these drones will be more expensive than Ukrainian counterparts, their price may become competitive compared to American ones, such as the Saronic, which is valued at $2 million. The significance of the event is driven by the rapid development of technologies that can shift the balance of power in the global defense product market.
