Belgorod affected by power supply disruptions after shelling

As a result of the overnight shelling, the Russian city of Belgorod experienced disruptions in electricity, heating, and water supply. The shelling also caused significant damage to the city’s infrastructure.

The nighttime shelling in the Russian city of Belgorod led to serious damage to the power supply systems, which by morning had not yet been fully restored. The governor of the Belgorod region, Vyacheslav Gladkov, reported a significant amount of damage to the energy infrastructure observed not only in Belgorod itself but also in neighboring districts — Belgorodsky, Rakityansky, Borisovsky, Grayvoronsky, and Yakovlevsky.

According to the city’s mayor, Valentin Demidov, the massive missile strike led to disruptions in the supply of electricity, heat, and water. However, by morning, the water supply had been completely restored. Local residents shared the events and consequences of the shelling on social media, confirming the severity of the situation.

Amid the shelling, investments in military technology in Ukraine are increasing. According to reports, over two years, they have increased 100 times. A survey by KMIS indicates that most Ukrainians support various strikes on Russian targets, and almost half believe that the strikes should also include energy facilities. 25% of respondents do not oppose strikes even on the Russian population.
