OpenAI prepares to enter the market with a voice device and new audio models
OpenAI plans to launch a personal device with a voice interface and new audio models. It is expected that the first device will be released in 2027, TechCrunch reports.
According to the publication, OpenAI has combined several teams to develop new audio models that should interact with users more naturally and “smarter”. They are planned to be able to interrupt and even talk simultaneously with the user. This is in line with the broader Silicon Valley trend of giving up screens in favor of audio interfaces, which enters one-third of U.S. households.
OpenAI is also working on creating a line of devices, including screenless smart speakers and glasses. Other tech giants are also following this trend: Meta integrates voice functions into its Ray-Ban glasses, Google experiments with audio search, and Tesla uses the Grok chatbot in its cars.
Apple, in turn, is rumored to be developing its Apple Glasses, which could be introduced as early as 2026. The device will receive artificial intelligence integration without a display, following Meta’s success with its Ray-Ban.
Experts note the importance of this trend for the technology market, as voice assistants become indispensable in everyday life, simplifying interaction with smart devices without using screens.
