Analysts estimated the cost of the New Year’s holiday table in Ukraine.

The New Year’s table in 2026 for Ukrainians will become more expensive due to economic difficulties

The average Ukrainian family of four will spend about 3980 hryvnias on the New Year’s table in 2026. This is 10.7% more than the previous year, reports the Institute of Agricultural Economy.

As reported by the director of the Institute of Agricultural Economy, Yurii Lupenko, the main factors affecting the price increase were the consequences of military actions, production cuts, and logistical difficulties. In particular, meat and dairy products, as well as non-alcoholic beverages, have risen the most in price. For example, the cost of the meat portion of the New Year’s table increased by 23% and is 1269 UAH for 2.85 kg of products. The main driver here was the rise in the price of chicken fillet, which increased by 40%.

A significant price increase is also observed among non-alcoholic beverages, which have risen by 34%. Meanwhile, prices have decreased for vegetables and fruits thanks to record harvests in 2025. A fruit package containing tangerines, bananas, and lemons now costs about 200 UAH, which is 22% cheaper than last year.

Products on the New Year’s table, such as “Olivier” salad and “Herring under a fur coat”, have also increased in price. The cost of “Olivier” rose by 5.8% to 406.87 UAH, and “Herring under a fur coat” by 4% to 174.83 UAH. However, the prices for vegetables for these salads have decreased, which slightly restrains the overall increase in costs.

According to experts, current economic challenges may complicate further price stabilization in Ukraine, but there is hope for reduced inflation in the long-term perspective. Recall that the annual inflation in the country has already slowed down to 10.9% in October 2025.

Product Category Price Change Cost
“Olivier” Salad +5.8% 406.87 UAH
“Herring under a fur coat” Salad +4% 174.83 UAH
Meat Portion +23% 1269 UAH
Vegetables -5% 473 UAH
Fruits -22% 200 UAH
Alcoholic Beverages increase over 239 UAH per bottle
