Ukrainian mine detection drone “Spinner” received NATO codification
The company Ailand Systems announced that their mine detection drone “Spinner” has received a unique NATO Stock Number (NSN), paving the way for participation in international tenders and military assistance programs.
Obtaining the NSN is a significant step for Ailand Systems, as it now allows the Ukrainian manufacturer to participate in tenders from NATO defense ministries and join intergovernmental contracts. It also provides access to military assistance programs. However, the company emphasizes that codification is a logistical and administrative recognition, not a confirmation of combat use or superiority over counterparts.
The “Spinner” drone, known for its innovative technology, has already been tested by the Ministry of Defense of Ukraine and used in humanitarian demining. Among its features are a dual search coil metal detector and a patented scanning algorithm, which improve accuracy and reduce the impact of electromagnetic interference. It can detect mines at a depth of up to 15 centimeters and scan a strip up to 1.5 meters wide with human-like precision.
It should be noted that the demining market in Ukraine is actively developing due to a large number of explosive devices on the territory. In June, another Ukrainian company, UADamage, announced the development of drones using artificial intelligence for similar tasks, indicating increasing competition and innovation in this field.
