Ukraine attracted 1.3 billion euros in aid for gas procurement for winter
Ukraine received nearly 1.3 billion euros in aid from international partners for urgent gas procurement for the winter season. This information was released by the country’s Ministry of Energy.
This significant amount of financial support is part of international assistance to ensure a stable passage through the winter period amidst challenges caused by military actions. Norway played a special role in support by providing 127 million euros to Ukraine. The contribution of this country to the Ukraine Energy Support Fund exceeds 77 million euros.
Ukraine’s Deputy Minister of Energy Mykola Kolisnyk held a meeting with Kristin Enstad, Counselor-Envoy of the Norwegian Embassy, during which they discussed the possibility of further scaling energy assistance. The parties focused on the need for gas procurement and equipment supply for infrastructure recovery.
The decision to ensure additional gas supplies is particularly important amidst attacks on Ukraine’s energy infrastructure by Russia. The country’s authorities are working on diversifying supplies, including an agreement with Greek partners on the transportation of liquefied natural gas from the USA through special routes.
| Country | Amount of Aid (million euros) |
|---|---|
| Norway | 127 |

Experts emphasize the importance of this funding to enhance the country’s energy security and ability to withstand potential crisis situations during the winter period.
