The Ukrainian-American company Sky Spy has successfully raised $1.6 million in a pre-seed round, which will allow the launch of production, market entry, and team expansion to create autonomous AI-based SIGINT systems.
The investments were co-led by Expeditions Fund and Superangel, with participation from Freedom Fund, Sunfish Partners, Crosscourt Ventures, and Material Ventures. Sky Spy aims to eliminate the critical gap in modern radio reconnaissance, which leaves up to 80% of small but important targets undetected. For this purpose, the company has developed the Agent 001 system, which has already been successfully tested in Ukraine.
Agent 001 is a compact onboard module capable of detecting, classifying, and locating radiators in real time. It operates in complex environments, including under active interference, without the need for GPS access, and can integrate with any command and control infrastructure. The module uses RF reconnaissance and visual confirmation technologies, providing efficiency at a lower cost compared to traditional solutions.
Expeditions Fund stated that their focus was on finding technology that could enhance battlefield signal intelligence, and they saw potential in Sky Spy. Superangel highlighted the technical depth of the team and their ability to quickly solve complex engineering challenges.
