Post-war Elections Outside Kremlin’s Interests: What Ukraine Needs to Do Now

Strategy for Elections in Ukraine: Importance of Security and Independence from External Influences

Ukraine is preparing for the first post-war elections, aiming for the independence of the electoral process from any external intervention. The main focus is on creating a legislative framework and security mechanisms to protect the country during the electoral process.

During recent discussions between the Ukrainian and American delegations, special attention was paid to possible elections in the conditions of aggression. The United States insists on maintaining Ukraine’s sovereignty and establishing a stable peace agreement, rejecting the possibility of holding elections in favor of Russian interests as part of negotiations.

To prepare for post-war elections, Ukraine needs to immediately undertake the development of a special law that will regulate elections. The development of this draft law should be conducted in open cooperation with the parliament, authorities, opposition, and experts. Moreover, Ukraine must continue adapting to the requirements of the European Union, which include recommendations on the functioning of democratic institutions.

An equally important component of the preparation is an audit of the State Voter Register and the development of a data verification system. This will ensure the reliability of voter information, including verification for internally displaced persons (IDPs) and Ukrainians abroad. Ensuring the voting rights of all citizens, including military personnel, should be a priority.

It is evident that preparing for the elections requires significant efforts to ensure the quality and trustworthiness of the process, as well as protection from various threats, including terrorist, informational attacks, and financial influences from Russia. This will require the development and adherence to clear security protocols.

In conclusion, the successful organization of post-war elections in Ukraine will depend on the country’s ability to protect the political process from external interference and internal risks.

Key Steps Goal
Development of a special election law Regulation of the electoral process
Audit of the State Voter Register Ensuring data reliability
Data verification for IDPs and voters abroad Guaranteeing voting rights
Ensuring election security Protection from external and internal threats
