Ukraine and the USA focus on implementing Trump and Zelensky’s defense agreements
Kyiv and Washington are working towards implementing the defense agreements reached by Presidents Trump and Zelensky by developing cooperation in the field of drones and other innovative military technologies.
The Ukrainian delegation, led by Defense Minister Denys Shmyhal, presented the latest developments in drone technology to U.S. representatives during a meeting with U.S. Army Minister Daniel Driscoll. According to Shmyhal, Ukraine showcased technologies for the production of FPV drones, interceptors, and long-range unmanned aerial vehicles.
Shmyhal emphasized the strategic partnership with the USA, noting that Ukrainian defense innovations, especially in the field of drone systems, communications, and situational awareness, demonstrate high efficiency on the battlefield. Additionally, he highlighted Ukraine’s desire to develop joint solutions with partners to enhance security.
The implementation of the “historic defense agreements” between Trump and Zelensky was also discussed, which, according to the minister, will elevate cooperation between the countries to a new level and strengthen the defense capabilities of both states.
This dialogue takes place against the background of Ukraine’s negotiations with the USA on concluding a large-scale contract for the supply of combat drones worth between 10 and 30 billion US dollars. Back in the summer, President Zelensky mentioned the possibility of signing such agreements, known as the Mega Deal and Drone Deal. In September, the Ukrainian delegation also visited the USA to discuss joint drone production.
| Country | Agreement | Estimated Value |
|---|---|---|
| Ukraine | Supply of combat drones | $10-30 billion |
