Trump Announces Meeting with Putin in Budapest to End the War in Ukraine

U.S. President Donald Trump plans a meeting with Russian leader Vladimir Putin in Budapest, Hungary’s capital, to discuss the possibility of ending the war in Ukraine. At the same time, the American president plans to meet with Volodymyr Zelensky at the White House to discuss the results of his phone call with the Russian dictator.

Donald Trump stated that his phone conversation with Vladimir Putin was a significant breakthrough in the context of potentially ending the military conflict between Russia and Ukraine. Although the date for the meeting in Budapest has not yet been set, the first high-level talks between representatives of both nations are scheduled for next week.

From the American side, the talks will be led by Secretary of State Marco Rubio. Additionally, Trump mentioned he plans to discuss this call with Putin during a meeting with Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky on October 17th in Washington.

During their conversation, Trump and Putin also discussed trade relations between the U.S. and Russia, which could be established after the war ends. The Russian leader expressed gratitude to First Lady Melania Trump for her efforts in working with children, which she continues.

The context of implementing new initiatives in the Middle East, supported by Trump and Putin, may also have a positive impact on peace negotiations regarding the Ukrainian issue, according to the American president.

This development demonstrates the possibility of a breakthrough in the prolonged conflict, but the final outcome depends on the details of future negotiations. Experts note that a successful settlement in the Middle East could serve as a model for resolving the conflict in Ukraine.
