UK Prime Minister Keir Starmer emphasized the importance of stabilization in the Middle East. He believes that the actions of US and Russian leaders negatively affect the situation with energy resources in the country.
Speaking with Robert Peston on ITV, as reported by The Guardian, Keir Starmer said he is tired of the strong influence of Donald Trump and Vladimir Putin on energy prices in the UK. He expressed concern about the fluctuations in energy bills faced by families and businesses across the country.
Starmer noted that Britain, along with its allies, is developing a plan for the rapid restoration of maritime logistics following the achievement of a ceasefire in the region. The prime minister also stressed the need for safe navigation through the Strait of Hormuz and called for an end to hostilities in the region, despite difficulties in reaching ceasefire agreements.
Earlier, Keir Starmer had a phone conversation with Donald Trump while in Qatar, where the unblocking of key transport routes was discussed. Experts believe that stabilizing the situation in the Middle East has significant potential to reduce global tension and stabilize energy prices.
