Agrarians of Ukraine have sowed 94.5% of the areas with winter crops
As of November 11, Ukrainian agrarians have sowed 6,194.5 thousand hectares of winter crops, which constitutes 94.5% of the forecasted areas. Odesa, Dnipropetrovsk, and Mykolaiv regions became leaders in terms of sowing volumes.
According to the Ministry of Economy, Environment, and Agriculture of Ukraine, the largest area is sown with winter wheat — 4,507.6 thousand hectares. Winter barley covers 544.2 thousand hectares, and winter rye — 66.1 thousand hectares. In Zakarpattia, Zaporizhzhia, Ivano-Frankivsk, Poltava, Rivne, and Chernihiv regions, grain sowing has already been completed.
In addition, 1,076.7 thousand hectares of winter rapeseed have been sown, with the largest areas in Odesa, Vinnytsia, and Mykolaiv regions. Agrarians in 14 regions have fully completed rapeseed sowing.
The context of this event is the overall increase in the volume of Ukrainian agrarian product exports, which in October amounted to 4.5 million tons, 20.8% more than in the previous month. Experts note that a successful sowing season can positively influence the further economic development of the country’s agro-sector, while challenges remain in the form of external markets and maintaining the stability of internal supply.
