Ukrainian forces continue efforts to expel the occupiers from the village of Hrabovske in the Sumy region.
In the village of Hrabovske, Sumy region, battles between the Ukrainian forces and Russian occupiers continue. Ukrainian forces are attempting to push the enemy back to Russian territory.
According to the report by the United Forces of the Armed Forces of Ukraine, the fighting in Hrabovske is ongoing. Meanwhile, the military personnel noted that although there had been information in the media about the presence of Russian troops in the nearby village of Riasne, it currently remains under the control of Ukrainian defenders.
The spokesperson of the United Forces, Viktor Tregubov, confirmed that the situation in the Sumy region is more like a provocation by Russian forces rather than a new direction of the offensive. The analytical project Deepstate points out that part of Hrabovske and its surrounding territories remain in the so-called gray zone, where intense fighting continues.
Earlier reports indicated the forced deportation of more than 50 local residents, mostly elderly people, to Russian territory. This information was confirmed by the Armed Forces officer Dmytro Lykhovyi. According to the data from the Ukrainian Parliament Commissioner for Human Rights, Dmytro Lubinets, the citizens were held without access to communication and were deported under inappropriate conditions.
Lubinets appealed to the Russian ombudsman demanding information on the whereabouts of the deported Ukrainians and measures for their return. He also urged Ukrainians to evacuate from the combat zone and sent an appeal to the International Committee of the Red Cross regarding this issue.
