The Cabinet plans to update the composition of Energoatom’s Supervisory Board to enhance crisis management
The government plans to change the composition of the Supervisory Board of JSC NNEGC “Energoatom” to improve crisis management and ensure transparent interaction with international partners. This decision was made in light of the current situation in the company.
As reported by the press service of the Ministry of Economy, the Environment, and Agriculture, the new composition of the Supervisory Board will be proposed to the government for approval within the next week. Projects with lists of potential candidates have already begun, and a responsible advisor has been appointed to carry out this task.
The Ministry’s communiqué notes that in the context of full-scale war, the Supervisory Board must be responsible not only for strategic development but also for timely risk response, as well as ensuring the safety and sustainability of the company’s operations. The update of the Board’s composition aims to strengthen these functions and ensure interaction with anti-corruption and audit agencies.
In addition, on government instructions, the State Audit Service has already begun a comprehensive audit of Energoatom. The procurement audit should be completed within 15 working days, while the full audit of the company will last up to 90 working days. Upon completion of the work, the audit report will be presented to the government, and the materials will be forwarded to the appropriate authorities for further consideration.
This decision is part of efforts aimed at adapting corporate governance to new challenges to speed up decision-making and implement crisis management mechanisms. Earlier, it was reported that the Cabinet of Ministers prematurely terminated the powers of the previous Supervisory Board of Energoatom, responding to allegations of corruption among company employees.
