NABU Detective: Timur Mindich was not a key figure in the “Midas” case
National Anti-Corruption Bureau of Ukraine (NABU) Detective Ruslan Magamedrasulov stated that businessman Timur Mindich, suspected in the operation “Midas”, was not a key figure in the possible corruption schemes.
Ruslan Magamedrasulov, a NABU detective, explained in an interview with Ukrayinska Pravda that he does not consider Timur Mindich, known by the alias “Carlson”, as the main organizer in the possible schemes. He noted that at the start of the investigation, NABU focused its attention on the activities of the Ministry of Defense, and the figure “Carlson” had a secondary role. Magamedrasulov emphasized that he cannot yet point to the true organizer of the schemes, as the investigation is ongoing.
When asked about the possible involvement of top-level officials, the detective expressed hope that their participation would be proven but emphasized that the main thing is the evidence base. This issue remains open, as Magamedrasulov highlighted, the results of the investigation have not yet been made public.
Recall that on December 18, the High Anti-Corruption Court allowed an in-absentia investigation regarding Timur Mindich and his partner Oleksandr Zukerman, who are currently wanted. In addition, Magamedrasulov and his father Sentyabr are suspected of collaborating with a hostile state, but their lawyers deny these accusations.
In July, Magamedrasulov and other NABU employees were charged with organizing corruption schemes, which caused a sharp reaction from the public and international partners. This led to a temporary loss of independence of the anti-corruption agencies, which was eventually restored after protests.
