President Zelensky plans to discuss visits to France and Spain to strengthen the army
President of Ukraine Volodymyr Zelensky will visit France on November 17 to discuss strengthening defense capabilities, and will also visit Spain on November 18 as part of expanding international support for the Ukrainian army.
Volodymyr Zelensky announced the signing of a historic agreement with France, which will significantly enhance Ukraine’s combat aviation and air defense systems. The visit aims not only to conclude agreements but also to strengthen the strategic partnership between the two countries to improve Ukraine’s defense capabilities.
The president also noted that Spain has joined the partner countries with several initiatives to aid Ukraine, which have been in preparation for a long time. Thus, Ukrainian diplomacy is actively working on garnering support from European allies, allowing the country to increase its resilience amid the threats of the winter period.
Previously, on October 24, French President Emmanuel Macron announced the delivery of additional Aster missiles and Mirage fighters to Ukraine, and the very next day, the French government expressed readiness to deploy troops to Ukraine if needed by 2026.
Experts believe that these diplomatic steps could significantly improve Ukraine’s defense capabilities and deepen military-political cooperation with European countries, which has become especially important in light of the current security situation in the region.
