The “Winter Support” program has started in Ukraine: a one-time payment of 1000 hryvnias
The “Winter Support” program has officially started in Ukraine, which provides for a one-time cash assistance of 1000 hryvnias to citizens. This was announced by Prime Minister Yulia Svyrydenko on her Telegram channel.
According to the Prime Minister’s announcement, the program is designed for all citizens residing in the country. Applications for assistance can be submitted in the “Diia” application from November 15, and parents or guardians must submit applications for children. The funds will be credited to the “National Cashback” card.
Applications will be accepted until December 24, 2025, and the money can be used until June 30, 2026. The assistance is allowed to be spent on utility bills, purchase of medicines, groceries, books, charitable contributions, and postal services.
Pensioners and recipients of social benefits who use “Ukrposhta” services will automatically receive 1000 hryvnias credited to a special account from November 18 without the need to submit an application. Those receiving a pension on a bank card and not using “Diia” can apply at “Ukrposhta” branches from November 18 to December 24, and use the funds until December 25, 2025. The money can be spent on Ukrainian-made goods at “Ukrposhta,” payment for utilities, and transfers to support the Defense Forces.
Winter Support is part of a comprehensive government initiative implemented at the president’s instruction. The program includes additional payments for vulnerable categories, free tickets under the “3000 kilometers” program from “Ukrzaliznytsia,” fixed prices for energy carriers, housing subsidies, and support for internally displaced persons during the heating season.
The “Winter Support” package was announced by President Volodymyr Zelensky on November 1, noting that the programs will start operating in December. Among the innovations is also support at the birth of a child in the amount of 50,000 hryvnias.
