Yulia Koltak, a well-known media figure, has formally remained associated with the banned TV channels 112, ZIK, and NewsOne. She also works as a spokesperson for the Kyiv Regional Prosecutor’s Office.
According to information from open sources, Yulia Koltak owns a media holding company that includes the banned channels that once belonged to Viktor Medvedchuk’s media empire. The YouControl system and submitted declarations confirm her connection to these media outlets. Moreover, in January 2022, she conveyed appeals from Medvedchuk’s closed channels to the U.S. Charge d’Affaires in Ukraine, requesting to “restore freedom of speech.”
The very fact that the media assets were transferred to Yulia Koltak raises questions about her role within the structure and potential legal challenges preventing her from leaving this management. Experts suggest that such connections may affect her reputation as a government representative, calling into question her independence and impartiality.
Currently, Yulia continues to work at the state level, adding further interest to her persona in the context of political and media trends in Ukraine.
