In the occupied territories of the Zaporizhzhia region, Russia’s efforts to integrate the region into its administrative system continue. This is accompanied by the forced implementation of Russian education and migration programs.
The occupation of parts of the Zaporizhzhia region has been ongoing for about four years, and Russia continues its active efforts to integrate the region into its state system. Regional schools have become a tool for spreading narratives about the “artificial creation of Ukraine by Lenin.” Parents, under pressure, are forced to enroll their children in the “Yunarmiya” organization, under the threat of problems due to disloyalty to the occupying authorities. As part of the incentive policy, Russian teachers and doctors are encouraged to move to the occupied territories, while local residents without Russian passports are deported.
Negotiations between Russia and the USA regarding these territories are taking place against the backdrop of Russia’s demands to gain control over Donetsk region in exchange for withdrawal from Zaporizhzhia and Kherson regions. However, Ukraine’s position remains unchanged: withdrawal from the occupied regions is considered impossible.
