“Among the employees of the CCC, suicides occur – military ombudsman Reshetylova”

Cases of suicides among CCC employees recorded, reforms needed

Systematic shortcomings in the work of territorial recruitment centers (CCC) have led to suicides among their employees. This was reported by Ombudsman Olga Reshetilova, who called for reforms in the military registration system and improvement in working conditions.

Reshetilova noted that CCC employees often do not have days off for several months, and vacations are out of the question. In addition, they face physical assaults and hostility from the public. The staffing level in the centers remains low — about 40%, which only increases the workload due to the numerous tasks and responsibilities placed on them.

In recent months, incidents have been recorded both with mobilized individuals and the military themselves. For example, on October 24, in the Kyiv CCC, a man’s death occurred under circumstances that raised many questions. And on October 30, a shooting took place in Kremenchuk, resulting in two servicemen being injured. At the same time, the Land Forces reported that only 10% of the incidents ultimately turned out to be true, with the remaining 90% being fake.

These events highlight the need to review and improve the work of the centers, where employees should be provided with adequate working conditions and social guarantees. Despite complaints, their contribution to the country’s defense is extremely important.
