Ukrainian military repelled the assault on Pokrovsk, Russians lost equipment
Ukrainian forces successfully repelled a Russian assault in the city of Pokrovsk, during which the aggressor lost military equipment. President Volodymyr Zelensky commented on the importance of holding the city during a briefing.
President Zelensky on November 7 announced that on November 5, Russian forces attempted an assault on the city of Pokrovsk using equipment but suffered losses. Over the past three days, 220 assault attempts have been recorded in the area. There are currently 314 Russian soldiers in the city itself, and a significant group of occupiers is concentrated in its vicinity.
Russia intends to capture Pokrovsk to demonstrate “successes” on the battlefield and promote the narrative of the possibility of capturing the entire Donbas. Meanwhile, the Ukrainian Armed Forces are showing progress in Kupiansk, attempting to strengthen positions, although the situation in Vovchansk may become complicated due to the accumulation of enemy forces. In the Siverskyi direction, the Russian assault failed, and operations in Dobropillia are proceeding successfully.
Earlier, on November 5, it was reported that about 1,200 residents remain in Pokrovsk, and about 5,000 in nearby Kostiantynivka. On the same day, Ukrainian assault units from the “Skala” detachment raised the Ukrainian flag on the building of the Pokrovsk city council, which is controlled by the Armed Forces of Ukraine.
Military analysts note that as long as Russia does not achieve significant gains in eastern Ukraine, any attempts to capture new territories look unlikely. However, the situation remains tense, and further fighting in the region is possible.

| Pokrovsk | 62,000 | 1,200 | 314 |
