Explosions and fires in Kostroma region and Volgograd due to drone attacks
On the night of November 6, a new drone attack was recorded in Russia causing explosions and fires in the Kostroma region and Volgograd. Authorities reported no disruptions in the power supply, despite damage to infrastructure facilities.
According to the local administration of Volgorechensk, in the Kostroma region, a drone attack was repelled, accompanied by protective systems’ operation and a series of “pops”. Despite the authorities’ assurances, the Russian Telegram channel ASTRA, citing photo analysis and local sources, claims that Kostroma GRES – the third largest thermal power plant in Russia – was hit.
Also, during the drone attack in Volgograd, a 24-storey residential building was damaged: balconies were damaged, windows shattered, and debris injured a 48-year-old man.
