Russia strikes the energy infrastructure: emergency power outages implemented in most regions

Russia launched a new massive attack on Ukraine’s energy infrastructure with missiles and drones. Due to these attacks, emergency power outages have been introduced in most regions.

On the night of October 30 and the morning of October 31, Russian forces again attacked power facilities in Ukraine. According to Ukrenergo, as a result of these actions, emergency power outages have been implemented, which will last until the situation stabilizes in the national energy system.

Energy Minister Svitlana Hrynchuk stated that after the situation stabilizes, energy workers will begin restoration work and assess the damage caused. Repair work and the elimination of attack consequences are expected.

In Zaporizhzhia, a dormitory was partially destroyed due to Russian shelling, injuring 13 people, including six children. Ukrenergo reported that from 08:00 to 19:00, schedules for hourly outages and power limitation modes for industrial consumers will be in effect.

Since autumn, Russia has significantly intensified attacks on Ukraine’s energy infrastructure. In connection with this, power outage schedules are being introduced throughout the country. It should be noted that on October 28, President Zelensky announced that Ukraine’s allies had established a coalition to support the energy sector, which was affected by Russian strikes.
