Elon Musk Settles $128 Million Lawsuit with Former Top Twitter Executives
Elon Musk has agreed to settle a $128 million lawsuit filed by four former top executives of Twitter, whom he dismissed after acquiring the company in 2022.
Following his acquisition of Twitter, Elon Musk fired then-CEO Parag Agrawal, CFO Ned Segal, and chief legal officers Sean Edgett and Vijaya Gadde. The former executives claimed they were not given proper severance packages because they insisted Musk uphold his $44 billion commitments when he attempted to back out of the deal. The lawsuit even quoted a claim from Walter Isaacson’s biography of Musk, suggesting that Musk had threatened to “hunt down” all the executives.
The settlement between Musk and the former employees has been confirmed by the court, although the details remain confidential. A similar case occurred recently when Musk resolved a class-action lawsuit from 6,000 former Twitter employees who also reported severance payment issues.
Experts note that such lawsuits could have a long-term impact on Elon Musk’s reputation as a manager. They also draw attention to the internal tensions in companies he owns and underscore the necessity of strict adherence to employment agreements.
