IMF revised the global economic growth forecast.

The IMF Forecasts a Slowdown in Global Growth Starting in 2024

The International Monetary Fund expects the growth rate of the global economy to slow down from 3.3% in 2024 to 3.2% in 2025 and 3.1% in 2026. This forecast was published in the latest IMF report.

According to the IMF’s estimates, developed countries are expected to grow at around 1.5%, while emerging and developing countries are forecasted to grow slightly above 4%. Despite the forecast being revised upwards relative to the data from April 2025, the overall trend continues to show a decline compared to earlier projections.

Inflation is predicted to decrease globally, although with significant deviations depending on the country. In the United States, it will remain above the target level with potential risks to growth. The IMF emphasizes the importance of revising economic strategies, highlighting the possibility of mitigating the impact of protectionist measures through agreements and reforms.

The report also warns of potential risks in the labor market, fiscal instability, and possible negative corrections in financial markets, which could threaten stability. The IMF advises countries to focus on restoring trust through transparent and well-founded economic policies and maintaining the independence of central banks. It is worth noting that the total global debt in dollar equivalent has increased to 251 trillion USD.
