Danish company presented GDPRchat as an alternative to ChatGPT, with secure data storage in the EU
Danish company FRITS AI Aps has launched a new chatbot GDPRchat, which aims to become a European alternative to the popular ChatGPT, ensuring that user data is stored purely within the European Union.
This innovation in the field of artificial intelligence is based on the language model of the French company Mistral AI, and all infrastructure is hosted on the servers of the German hosting provider Hetzner. Internet search is conducted through the American search engine Brave, but the company emphasizes that only the query text is transmitted without any identifying data.
As noted by the chairman of the board of directors of FRITS AI Aps, Lars Kolind, the main advantage of the service lies in European data storage, while American AI services may be less transparent in their use of information. This is particularly relevant against the backdrop of growing concerns in Europe about the U.S. Cloud Act, which grants U.S. law enforcement access to data stored by American companies.
GDPRchat is already available to users aged 16 and over and can be downloaded from the App Store and Google Play, although due to high demand, new users are temporarily added to a waiting list. The service offers a free plan with a daily limit, as well as various paid subscriptions that unlock additional features.
In addition, the company assures that it does not use any third-party analytics or advertising services. Users have the ability to view and request the deletion of their data.
