Anthropic announces new AI models Claude Fable 5 and Claude Mythos 5. They have enhanced capabilities for automated work and adaptation to specific tasks in multiple industries.
Claude Fable 5, the latest model from Anthropic, is noted for its power among the company’s publicly available technologies. It shows success in programming, data analysis, and scientific research. However, Fable 5 has limitations regarding some queries related to cybersecurity and hazardous substances; such queries may be automatically redirected to the less complex model Claude Opus 4.8.
Claude Mythos 5 is based on a similar architecture but with fewer limitations in cybersecurity. The model will initially be available through the Project Glasswing initiative, which Anthropic implements in collaboration with the US government. Subsequently, there are plans to expand access through a trusted access program.
Testing of these models has confirmed their effectiveness in software development, analysis of complex data, and context processing. During testing, the Fable 5 model was able to migrate a 50 million line codebase in one day, which would take a team over two months. In financial tests, it also showed a high accuracy in analyzing documents and diagrams.
For security assurance, Anthropic is introducing 30-day data retention for interactions with the models, which will help detect new security threats. The cost of using Claude Fable 5 and Claude Mythos 5 is $10 per million input tokens and $50 per million output tokens. For Pro, Max, Team, and standard Enterprise subscriptions, access is free until June 22; from June 23, credit purchases will be required.
The Claude Mythos 5 model is positioned as advanced in the field of programming and agent AI, capable of detecting vulnerabilities in cybersecurity. It is used by the US National Security Agency. Anthropic plans to improve these models before making them available to a wider range of users.
| Model | Main Capabilities | Price |
