The Netherlands allocated 500 million euros to support Ukraine’s defense
The Netherlands announced the allocation of 500 million euros for military aid to Ukraine, half of which will be directed towards the purchase of missiles for air defense, and the other half towards providing additional drones to Ukrainian Defense Forces.
During an official visit to the Netherlands, Ukrainian Defense Minister Mykhailo Fedorov signed several agreements with representatives of the Dutch government and defense industry. Meetings were held, in particular, with the Dutch Minister of Defense and Prime Minister Rob Jetten. One of the key decisions is the allocation of 250 million euros through the PURL program to strengthen air defense. Another 250 million euros will be used for supplying additional drones to Ukraine.
The countries also agreed to launch the production of Ukrainian drone systems within the framework of the Build with Ukraine program. In the initial stages, production will be financed by the Dutch Ministry of Defense, and all manufactured systems will be supplied for Ukraine’s needs. Besides this, an agreement on cooperation in the field of defense innovations was signed.
It is worth noting that support for Ukraine is part of broader international cooperation. In particular, Germany announced the provision of 400 million dollars to strengthen air defense, including the purchase of Patriot missiles under the PURL program. This emphasizes the desire of European states to significantly enhance Ukraine’s defense capabilities.
