The government allocated an additional nearly 11 billion hryvnias for weapons and the development of the defense industry.

The Ukrainian government has allocated 10.84 billion UAH for defense and the development of military production. The funds, obtained from tax and license revenues, will be distributed between the purchase of armaments and the support of the Ukrainian military-industrial complex.

The Ministry of Defense of Ukraine announced that 9.05 billion UAH will be directed towards purchasing new weaponry, as well as the modernization and repair of military equipment. Another 1.79 billion UAH will be allocated to the defense-industrial complex. These funds will be invested in the implementation of the latest technologies, expansion of plant capacities, and sector reform. This approach will allow for the urgent needs of the front to be swiftly addressed and ensure the long-term development of production.

Additional funds have become available thanks to the special state budget fund, which was accumulated through tax revenues and license fees from the gambling business and lotteries. This fund was created in 2025 following the abolition of the Ministry for Strategic Industry Sectors.

Experts believe this distribution of finances will contribute to strengthening the country’s defense capabilities. Investments in the military sector will not only improve the operational situation at the front but also ensure the development of the Ukrainian defense-industrial complex.

Direction Amount (billion UAH)
Purchase of armaments 9.05
Defense-industrial complex 1.79
