Five new regiments have been created in the National Guard due to the change in Russian tactics.

An independent airspace coverage regiment will be created in the National Guard of Ukraine, which will enhance defense against Russian unmanned aerial vehicles and guided aviation bombs. Ukraine’s Minister of Internal Affairs Ihor Klymenko announced the formation of this new unit within the structure of the NGU.

The formation of the regiment is part of a broader initiative to strengthen the combat capability of the National Guard. New regiments of unmanned systems and assault units are being established to adapt to the changing conditions of modern warfare. According to the minister, an analytical approach and the use of modern technologies are key elements in restructuring the units.

The Commander-in-Chief of the NGU, Oleksandr Pivnenko, emphasized the importance of the newly created units, which are already proving their effectiveness on the battlefield. The structural changes allow the National Guard to have its own management bodies, artillery, and logistics, which in turn increases autonomy and speeds up decision-making for coordinating actions on the front line.

The Russian Federation actively uses aviation, guided aviation bombs, and strike drones. The newly created airspace coverage regiment enhances our capabilities in air defense and helps to quickly respond to air threats. The NGU is deploying mobile fire groups to protect critical infrastructure and expanding anti-aircraft units for a quicker detection and destruction of enemy targets.

Experts note that such changes are necessary for an effective defense against Russian attacks. The use of unmanned systems is increasing, making them an important component of modern combat. The National Guard is implementing its own technological solutions to enhance accuracy and safety.

New NGU Units Purpose
Airspace Coverage Regiment Countering air threats
Unmanned Systems Units Enhancing reconnaissance and strike accuracy
Assault Regiments Strengthening offensive operations
