Russia has started using Shahed drones with online control for attacks on the front lines in Ukraine, experts say.
Given the effective work of Ukrainian forces against drones deep in the country, Russia has changed tactics and concentrated strikes on frontline positions. This was stated by Ukrainian Defense Ministry adviser Serhiy Beskrestnov, known as Flash.
According to Beskrestnov, the enemy observes the successful actions of Ukrainian defenders against drones and, in search of new opportunities, decides to attack the frontline zone at a depth of up to 20 kilometers. The expert noted that many drones have the capability of online control, making them maneuverable and dangerous for Ukrainian defensive positions.
Previously, Ukrainian troops destroyed the Shahed drone control system in Belarus. Some of these relays could reach Kyiv and important transport routes in western Ukraine. President Volodymyr Zelensky hinted at successes in this operation back in February this year.
Amid these events, experts emphasize the importance of continuing the development of drone countermeasure systems and enhancing the capabilities of Ukrainian defense forces at the front. This can have strategic significance for maintaining security in the region and can assist Western partners in studying successful tactics of the Ukrainian army.
