Trump does not rule out US ground operation in Iran if necessary

US President Donald Trump stated that he does not rule out the possibility of deploying American ground troops in Iran if necessary. He said this in an interview with the tabloid New York Post.

According to Trump, although he hopes it won’t be necessary, the US may decide on the physical presence of troops on Iranian territory. Trump emphasized that the operation against Iran is proceeding according to plan and even faster than expected. Notably, on the first day of the operation, 49 representatives of the Iranian leadership were killed, which, according to the president, should have taken at least four weeks.

The US and Israeli operation began on February 28, and although initially planned for four to five weeks, Trump assured that it could last significantly longer. The US Central Command reported that on the third day of fighting, four American service members were killed. The fourth serviceman, who was severely injured during the initial attacks, later died from his injuries.

Trump also announced an intensification of strikes on Iran, emphasizing that “we haven’t even started hitting them hard yet.” These statements fit into the broader US strategy of pressuring Iran, which has been ongoing for several years.
