The management of the “Dragobrat” resort has been suspected in connection with the death of a tourist.

Criminal Charges Announced Against “Dragobrat” Resort Management Over Tourist’s Death

The Office of the Prosecutor General of Ukraine announced criminal charges against the management of the “Dragobrat” ski resort in connection with the death of a tourist in January 2025. The investigation revealed a series of violations related to safety at the resort.

The tragedy occurred on January 18, 2025, when a 28-year-old tourist from the Volyn region, who was a doctor, died after falling and colliding with an unprotected metal fence at the resort. According to the investigation’s materials, the incident was caused by improper technical condition of protective structures, lift operation in unsafe conditions, and the absence of an emergency rescue service.

Following several expert examinations, law enforcement concluded that the resort’s management failed to implement necessary safety measures, which became the basis for criminal charges against a 38-year-old woman and a 65-year-old man. They are accused of violating safety rules that led to a person’s death. The prosecution is preparing a motion to select a preventive measure in the form of detention.

The company “Dragobrat” was registered in 1993 and has been partially owned by Anastasia Nechytailo from Poltava since 2024. The remaining assets are distributed among other co-owners. At the end of November 2025, the resort was put up for sale for $2.75 million due to “inconveniences in process management.”
