Microsoft updates Paint and Notepad with new AI-powered features
Microsoft continues to integrate artificial intelligence into its standard applications, adding new capabilities to Paint and Notepad in the latest update for Windows Insiders.
AI capabilities are gradually becoming an integral part of Microsoft’s standard programs. In the new version of Paint, users in the Copilot Plus PCs category are offered a “Coloring Book” feature that generates sketches based on a text prompt. Additionally, Paint has added a new “Fill” tool with an adjustable slider that improves color distribution accuracy.
The Notepad text editor has undergone significant changes, including the integration of Write, Rewrite, and Summarize tools. AI now provides real-time text preview, with additional Markdown syntax support, including strikethrough and nested lists.
Analysts believe these innovations are part of Microsoft’s strategy to promote neural processor computers that can offer new capabilities to users. Despite some dissatisfaction regarding the quality of generated images in Paint, the company focuses on everyday users, emphasizing ease of interaction.
