Evolution of Artificial Intelligence in 2025: New Opportunities and Vision
The year 2025 brought significant changes in the development of artificial intelligence (AI), as tech giants focused on enhancing their systems and expanding AI capabilities. From generating realistic videos to creating high-quality images, industry leaders took steps forward to ensure better understanding and processing of complex queries.
OpenAI became one of the leaders in this movement, starting the year by introducing the GPT-4 model, followed by announcing GPT-4.5 in February with improved interaction features. The year ended with the release of GPT-5, which included a context understanding mechanism. Additionally, OpenAI introduced the AI browser ChatGPT Atlas, which allows performing various tasks such as booking tickets and editing documents. To fund further development, the company secured support from partner SoftBank, launching the $500 billion Stargate initiative to achieve 10 gigawatts of power consumption.
Anthropic, another significant market player, also expanded its capabilities in 2025 by releasing the Claude Opus 4 and Sonnet 4 models, receiving high marks in long-term planning and coding tasks. In December, the company introduced a Chrome plugin, allowing AI to perform actions in the browser on behalf of the user.
Alphabet strengthened its position by introducing the Gemini 3 and Nano Banana Pro models, which increased the number of AI Overview users in Google Search to 2 billion per month. Amid the success, Alphabet’s shares rose by 66%, elevating them to the status of the most successful among market counterparts.
At the same time, Ukraine actively developed state AI initiatives, launching the “Sovereign AI Factory” to create a national infrastructure for AI products. Joint efforts of Ukraine and NVIDIA led to the launch of an initiative to create sovereign AI, showing significant progress in the development of the public sector.
This year marked a turning point in AI, as interaction with technology moved to a new level, while companies faced new challenges in competing for user attention.
