Ukrainian-German enterprise to produce drones for Ukraine’s defense
Ukrainian Frontline Robotics and German Quantum Systems have joined forces to create a joint defense enterprise, Quantum Frontline Industries, to produce drones to be used by Ukrainian military personnel.
The new project involves launching in Germany the first fully automated industrial line in Europe for drone production. The “Zoom” and “Lens” drones, developed by Frontline Robotics, are already being used on the battlefield. All produced systems will be delivered to the Ukrainian Defense Forces in volumes determined by the Ministry of Defense. An important aspect is also the creation of jobs for Ukrainians in Germany.
Quantum Systems will be responsible for the industrial infrastructure and administrative support of the process, while Frontline Robotics will provide the production license, and ensure training and instruction for the personnel. Such collaboration will allow for the rapid scaling of drone serial production, which is difficult to implement during the war within Ukraine.
The head of Frontline Robotics, Yevhen Tretyak, emphasized that the creation of the joint enterprise is essential for supplying Ukrainian military with thousands of drones. Quantum Systems noted that the combination of Ukrainian experience and German engineering could revolutionize defense production.
It is worth noting that in 2025, the valuation of Quantum Systems was increased to 3 billion euros in a new funding round.
