Ukrainian forces have completely blocked the Russian group in Kupiansk
The Russian group, consisting of over 200 servicemen, is surrounded in Kupiansk, in the Kharkiv region. All enemy ground military logistics have been cut off, including blocking exits from the gas pipeline used to enter the city through shelling.
According to the command of the 2nd Corps of the Ukrainian National Guard “Khartia,” the supply for the group of occupiers is currently carried out exclusively with the help of drones. Ukrainian military operate with caution, as there are up to 500 civilians left in Kupiansk, whom Russian forces are using as a “human shield.”
According to OSINT community data, the maps of DeepState noted a change in the situation near Kupiansk and in the city itself after the successful operation of the Ukrainian Defense Forces. As a result of the heavy battles in October and November 2025, the Ukrainian Armed Forces completely blocked the enemy’s access to the city from the side of the Oskil River. The settlements of Radkivka and Kondrashivka and their surroundings were liberated.
In early autumn, under critical conditions, General Oleksandr Syrskyi formed the “Khartia” search and assault group, which included units from various brigades and assault regiments. They conducted a series of successful counter-terrorist operations under the leadership of Colonel Ihor Obolenskyi (“Kornet”). The command states that the battles in the center of Kupiansk are still ongoing, but the city will soon be completely liberated.
The Russian command, including Vladimir Putin and Valery Gerasimov, claimed “complete occupation” of Kupiansk. However, the leadership of the Armed Forces of Ukraine noted that Ukrainian forces have strengthened their tactical position, including cutting enemy communications, making it impossible for the occupiers to receive reinforcements.
