Ukraine is coordinating the positions of its allies regarding a peace plan to end the war with Russia. This became known after a meeting between the Secretary of the National Security and Defense Council Rustem Umerov and President Volodymyr Zelensky.
Rustem Umerov reported on the active work of the Ukrainian negotiating team. Discussions are being prepared in Germany on security guarantees for Ukraine, led by the Chief of the General Staff of the Armed Forces of Ukraine Andriy Hnatov. In the USA, work is being conducted in the areas of the economy, recovery, and investments. This process is overseen by Prime Minister Yuliya Svyrydenko, Deputy Minister of Economy Taras Kachka, and Minister of Economy Oleksiy Sobolev.
Zelensky also noted that advisors on national security and other involved parties are in constant contact. The main goal remains unchanged: to bring about the real end of the war and ensure future peace for Ukraine. In this aspect, the synchronization of allies’ positions, which was discussed during a video conference with national security advisors, plays an important role.
Meetings in New York will be significant steps in forming Ukraine’s long-term resilience through recovery, development, and attracting investments. At the same time, during a conversation with journalists, Zelensky pointed out the importance of reaching a peace agreement with Russia, which should ensure a complete ceasefire. The importance of Ukraine in this process is confirmed by reports from Le Monde about the possibility of creating a buffer zone in the Donetsk region.
